ECI Telecom is modernizing the data service architectures
of the world's largest carrier networks with its innovative IP-based
multi-service data delivery solutions. The ECI Data Networking
Division's service edge routers and service management solutions
enable profitable delivery of all switched and routed data services
at the edge of carrier IP/MPLS networks. Founded in October of
1999 as Laurel Networks, and acquired by ECI Telecom in June 2005,
ECI's Data Networking Division is headquartered in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, USA.
Innovations
ECI Data Networking Division's edge routers are the first to combine
full-featured data service support and complete Internet routing
in a carrier-class IP-based platform. This unmatched service agility
enables carriers to offer any type of data service (including
MPLS Layer 2, IP VPNs, Internet access, ATM, frame relay and Ethernet
and broadband) over a range of interface speeds and access networks.
To further meet the evolving service delivery needs of carriers,
service types and speeds are software-configurable to support
changing customer requirements. Together, these innovations enable
service providers to deliver a profitable suite of services.
Market
ECI is a leader in the growing service provider edge router market,
delivering solutions to the world's largest carriers including:
Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs); Interexchange Carriers
(IXCs); Internet Service Providers (ISPs); Postal, Telephone and
Telegraph agencies (PTTs); and Multiple System Operators (MSOs).
ECI's service edge routers and service management solutions are
deployed by the world's largest service providers in the U.S.,
Europe and Asia, including Level
3 Communications, KT
and Dacom and Arsys
Internet S.L. The company also sells to smaller IOCs (Independent
Operating Companies) and regional carriers.
Products
ST-series Service Edge Routers
The ST-series is the only platform designed from the ground up
with the features required at the edge of a service provider IP/MPLS
backbone. The ST-series combines Internet-class routing, complete
multi-service support, broadband subscriber management, integrated
service management and unprecedented architecture flexibility
to support current and evolving service provider requirements
-- all at wire speed.
ShadeTree System Software
Engineered specifically for the ST-series platform, ECI's ShadeTree
System Software ensures maximum system reliability, scalability
and service flexibility, delivering the unmatched routing and
switching performance required by the world's largest carrier
networks. Key ShadeTree features include: a redundant, distributed
architecture; separate routing, management and forwarding processes;
and a flexible object-oriented design.
ShadeTree Management Suite
ECI's ShadeTree Management Suite gives broadband service providers
the ability to easily deploy both residential and business services
with a minimum of operational overhead. A powerful, open service
provisioning and policy management system, ShadeTree MS reduces
the time and costs associated with deploying both Layer 2 and
Layer 3 VPNs and on-demand, triple play services. By offering
subscriber self-management, automating the configuration of network
elements, simplifying service definition, and accelerating new
service deployment, ShadeTree MS allows carriers to lower the
costs of adding new services to their portfolios.
